Pro Boxing Returns To Kitchener

Professional Boxing is making its triumphant return to the city of Kitchener November 3rd at Bingemans Marshall Hall. Lead by formerly ranked #1 Super middleweight boxer Syd “The Jewel” Vanderpool boxingbysyd “The Return of the Gladiators” promises to have fight fans on the edge of their seats. Six bouts are scheduled for the card and to really amp up the excitement the Weigh ins will be held at Victoria Star Motors Mercedes Benz at 10am the day before the fight. Kitchener has a boxing pedigree and this event aims to bring it back into the spotlight.

From Olympic Gold medalist and World Heavyweight Champion Lennox Lewis who fought on the last pro card in Kitchener (1989), to November 3rd headliner Julius “Caesar” Bunda, Kitchener has produced many successful pugilists and continues to do so today. Fighting at 154 pounds, The Kitchener native JuliusBunda has shown that he is game. Travelling all over to take on any opponent in their backyard, he now gets to make his hometown debut in front of family and friends.

“Fighting at home is a great opportunity. There hasn’t been a pro show here in quite some time and I’m excited to be a part of this event. I’m hoping to see a lot of local fans out and anyone who misses the show will regret it!”

Making his professional debut on the card is Hamilton Boxer and four-time Ontario Golden Gloves Champion Namah Daghir. Daghir has an elusive style with a sharp counter punching attack that is sure to excite. Rounding out the card is another Kitchener product, Junior “The Show” Dann who is looking to add a win to his record on home turf. Fighting at 168 pounds, Dann trains at Boxing by Syd Vanderpool’s gym and is a mainstay on the Kitchener boxing scene.
